The Fargo-Moorhead Twins…We’re gonna win Twins!

Luis Tiant, starting pitcher for the 2008 F-M Twins, has a mark of distinction in Memorial Stadium (home of the 2008 F-T Ts). On May 8, 1966 Frank Robinson hit the only homer completely out of the park. At every home game since, a flag reading “HERE” flew at the spot where the ball left the park. Tiant and Blyleven, pitching in Memorial …looks like were gonna need some more flags.

What could work: Balance and depth. You want home runs? Try Vlad (pictured above) and Harmon. You want hitters and speed? How about Carew and Knobby. You want defense? Perennial Gold Glover Jim Kaat will be throwing to one of the best throwing catchers of the game in Earl Battey (who proclaimed in an interview that to be a big league catcher “You have to be big and you have to be dumb.”) and MVP Zoilo. RBI’s? Chili and Allison will be there. Durability? Juan Marichal had thirty complete games in 1968.

What might fail: This team is geared up for an eight man rotation with one closer (Aguilera—have you ever noticed the resemblance of Aggie to the owner of the Mashers?). Former MN Twins Ron Perranowski, Jesse Orosco or Steve Howe would have been nice draft picks. Curious, isn’t it, that the team was actually drafted by the owner of the Saints. Devilish.

Result: 88-74. The plethora of starters could lead to a strong bullpen. General Manager of the Year honors await the leader…if he is there to receive them.

Nice prognostication, but I think this team is closer to .500 and the Saints will take this division.
