Head Start

By the time this picture was taken, Vida Blue had struck out over 300 batters in a single season, won 20 games three times, and helped lead his team to three consecutive World Series championships. He was only 26 years old and must have felt unbeatable.

Vida Blue will be a welcomed addition to this team and I think his demeanor might loosen up the team a bit too.

Small Ball has given the Rubble and Monroes a head start. Gone are Mays, Gossage, Randy Johnson, and Griffey and Barber. The only carry overs are Willie Randolph and Sweet Lou Gehrig. The pickups (Vida Blue, Larkin, Urbina, Minoso and Lynn to name a few) were made for more versatility and anything is better then what was assembled for opening day. On your mark, get set, GO. Lets see how things stand after 81 games. Right now the Small Ball ERA is 4.33 and the Batting average is .243. Look for Bonds and Gehrig to keep slugging and look for Larkin, Minoso and Lynn scoring alot of runs. GAME ON Marylyn Rubble

I like the moves . . . I tried to nab Lynn myself.

Is Dontrelle Willis' career following Vida Blue? It looks a whole lot like that except Vida had even more success then Willis.

Nice post, Glad you got control of your access. Yeah!
