The Gahanna Small Ball outfield just got better as the new-year arrived. Out is Griffey Jr. based on his poor Spring performance and in is a guy that is simply A-MAYS-ING. Willie Mays joins Roberto Clemente and Barry Bonds in what is the best outfield ever assembled. The photo (See above) when it was taken was the best outfield ever but as well all know we now have a new Home Run King; thus perfection has been accomplished. In addition to this move, a minor, but effective move was made to bring Bill Freehan in to replace a struggling Ivan Rodriguez. Sparky Anderson, the team’s manager, stated, “I liked the platoon at catcher to keep the players fresh, and frankly IROD was a bit overrated and did not earn a spot on the team in spring training.” Now the Roster is set at the league minimum of 22 players and it looks like another strong year for the team from Gahanna. They are a little light on the pitching but they make up for it with defense and a strong, versatile, lineup.

At this rate Small Ball won't have any one left from when I made the prognostications...I think that's his goal. I'm not writing a new daily prognostication for him. We'll just have to title the original submission "the team formally known as Small Ball." Doesn't matter what anyone writes anyway...we all have a hunch that unless it projects a record of 112-50, it will be bashed. I can't wait to see what Amnesty Day brings. Glad I don't have to keep track of all these transactions.
Come on Rabbit, I thought you were better than that. My lineup was set until Moosey went Randy Johnson on my butt. You really should revise your outlook for my team; the changes were actually significant. It could haunt me but I have never been blamed for not trying. Funny thing is that Moosey knows me too well by now. He hasn't uploaded my new roster to the site since I picked up Bonds. I have this feeling that he was thinking I might make a move or two just before the start. I have to ask; Didn't you like the article? Nice photo, eh?
