Municipal League - We have a Race!

In a year where the season had been pretty much cut and dried - WE HAVE A RACE.

On August 26, the Potato City Mashers held off division rivals Savoy Specials for a 4-3 win and a 4 game advantage. Playing at home, August 27th, the Specials were able to even up the series with a 5-4 win over the Mashers compliments of a Reggie Smith 3 run homer. The next night proved to be a pitchers duel going 13 innings. Ironically Don Money's single drove in Miguel Tejada for the game winner.

The New York Knights swept the Mashers and the Specials were able to take 2 of 3 from Lindstrom to give us some drama. For the last 8, the Specials face the Jays (2), Saints (3) and River Rox (3) "help me big Brother!". The Mashers have 2 against the Saints, 3 v.'s the Jays and 3 against the Steam.

Boo Boring Baseball, Yeah Division Race!

The NL EAST IS OBVIOUSLY THE BEST DIVISION IN BASEBALL. ANY OF THESE TEAMS WOULD BE WINNING THE PATHETIC NL WEST. IT IS A SHAME THAT ANY OF THESE TEAMS HAVE TO BE OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS. BE PRPARED FOR NEXT YEAR BECAUSE A MOOSEY OR SULLIVAN WILL BE COMING TO YOUR DIVISION NEXT.

Must we be so acerbic...
It took a 20-6 run in the final month for the Millers and Small Ballers to be respectable...20-6 when it really doesn't matter and other squads may have cashed it in.
The Millers and Small Ball squads have moved from third and fourth in their division to...well...to third and fourth. Big-effing move when it doesn't really matter.

Bottom line, you are all still losing to a girl. Whom, I might add, you all (except for the River Rox--thanks Godfather) laughed at on draft day.

The Millers and Gahanna really manned up this year - ouch.

I will repeat, Sure it has been a nice run to end the season but frankly it is the teams we have played of late. It just so happens that the top two teams in the division got fat on the bottom feeders early. We all play the same amount of games against the same teams. A true measure of how good a team is their record. When it is all said and done I will stand by the fact that Our division is the best. Just think if other divisions were forced to play 18 games against the competition that was in the NL east. Just you wait, next year when both moosey and I are out of the NL East and we are in you division's you will be feeling the wrath. Did we get beat by a girl who drafted Cupid? Sure, but she did inherit a solid sqaud coming in. It was the old Bemidji Beaver Squad which was quite good the year before. It is nice to have the best leadoff guy and Ruth to start with. I take nothing away from her draft she has done well and better than my team. The Rubble also did well and proved again that solid pitching prevails over good, not great, hitting. It is nice to know that this is the year that the Millers fell out of contention and came back the rest of us. I suppose he just drafted poorly on purpose to give somebody else a chance this year. I want to be in the NL West next year. I think Moosey should try his luck in the AL

Thanks Sid for the 'you sucked because you wanted to suck' vote of confidence. But honestly I really wanted to kick your butt and just beat everyone else this year. In baseball you never know. If (when) the Millers move, I think I'd like to beat up on Jake since he'll be gone at Mankato.

It does feel good going 15-7 against you. What did I tell you about Randy Johnson. Great Stats but his end of season record doesn't warrant the salary he gets. He was the same way last year for me. Great stats but a lot of 2-1 losses.
