Rubble Mashes Potato City 3-1 to Move to AL Championship

Despite having the second best record in the Municipal League, the Rockville Rubble found themselves the visiting team in round one v. the Potato City Mashers. Johnny Rubble has been a force since acquiring a franchise in 2007. Hoping to take the next step in the team's maturation, they faced the ultra hot Potato City Mashers, winners of nine straight.

After winning the first contest at Dodger Stadium by a 2-1 count, the Rubble won back the home field advantage and took the next two out a three. Behind the pitching of Andy Pettitte (2 wins, 1.20 ERA) and the smokin' hot combo of Earl Averill (.462, 7 RBI's, 3 homers on 7 hits) and Joe Cronin (.417, 2 jacks, 5 RBI's on 5 hits), the Potato City Mashers were about as fresh as a Wendy's Baked Potato.

Next Stop for the Rubble: Coors Field and the hit parade known as the Marilynd Monroes.
