It just wasn't any girl who kicked our butts last year. It was a Triple A winner.

Congratulations to the 2008 Municipal League Champion Katie Bettendorf. Katie was named North Branch's Triple A award winner. The three A's represents students who excel in Athletics, Academics and Arts. Every year, each school selects a boy and a woman, and then they go on to represent the section. Katie Bettendorf is a tennis player, top notch in the classroom, a track and field state participant as well as a member of the Municipal League.

According to Katie, "I need to thank my parents, who despite their best efforts, couldn't hold me back. I was primed for a great senior year. After kicking the butts of all of you old farts in the Municipal League last season, geez, competing against a bunch of high school kids, well, it ain't nothin'!"

What makes it all so amazing is the big obstacle that she had to overcome...her father.
Thanks for the posting.

C'mon! Anyone can win a league championship once! Wait, 13 of us haven't yet.
Congrats, Katie.
