Commissioner Moosey invokes the "Hall of Fame" Clause beginning with the 2010 season. According to the league office, "The all-time series of players have been used for the past four Municipal League Seasons. Baseball history is constantly being made, even tonight as the Yankees try to push past the Angels for a ticket to the 09 World Series. The Baseball Hall of Fame honors the great. The Municipal League should also celebrate the great as well."
For each season, those players inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame will earn a $1 million dollar credit for the team that holds him on his roster for the following season. This year's honorees are Ricky Henderson, Jim Rice, Joe Gordon and Tony Kubec. If a hall of famer is dropped during the season, his credit will follow him. Also the credit will follow the player in a trade. The credit expires at seasons end.
For those 2009 teams with Henderson, Gordon or Rice on their rosters, a million dollar credit can be preserved if any of these guys retained as keepers. Otherwise they will now have a better draft value.
