Owner Baumann Kicks a Little Irish

Irish Kicker Press release
The Irish kickers are making a drastic 16 player 39 million dollar move to revamp their pitching staff. They first fired their scouting staff and their General Manager. They had to cut some pretty fair talent to try to get some consistency for the staff.

The prize was Warren Spahn and of course if you take Spahn you have to add Johnny Sain. This will be added to go along with Don Drysdale and new acquisition Mickey Lolich. Finishing games was a problem and they feel by adding Rick Aguilera (aka Chas Bettendorf) this will shore up the late game situation.

The additional add is to try to get another big bat in their lineup and they did this by adding Reggie Jackson and recent Hall of Famer Jim Rice.

To make these changes they had to bid farewell to many good players including Tony Gwynn and Dave Steib. In Twin's fashion the George Foster/Jake Peavy experiment was deemed a failure and they decided to part ways.
