Did you think Sid could contain himself after a 9-1 run?
Amnesty day saw the departure of Barry Bonds, Ducky Medwick and some other bit players from Small Ball. Mike Piazza, and Willie McCovey, and some key upgrades to the bullpen were added and it the brought forth a team attitude. Not once has a Small Ball player been nominated for a player of the month or the first half of the season. This isn't a slam on the folks nominating, its a compliment to the Gahanna Small ball front office for creating a selfless team that just goes about its business and plays as a team. Just like the team owner, there is no ego; it all about team (had to be said) Once again Gahanna finds itself in a familiar place; 1st Place.
During the current 9-1 stretch Smallball has swept the Millers and holds a 7-2 season advantage. The lead over the 2nd place Millers is 4 games and its not gonna change unless the Millers can beat Small Ball. For god's sakes Small ball went into to Fenway and "Did" the Millers this past week. All Dutchess Snider, Melanie Ott, LuLu Gehrig, Francis Robinson and the the rest of those girls could do was watch the Gahanna men come into their house and make a statement. The Millers better hang on or they are going to see the International Man of Mystery take their wildcard spot. Come on John, you know you need to say something. Is the Steam still in last? I didn't even check and I know the answer to that one. Will anyone challenge the Small Ball machine? Anyone? Sid is off the ridalin; look out!

Gehrig was dropped for a reason. Gehrig is a great stat guy as reflected in his season stats. On the season he is hitting .301, has 81 RBI's and 25 Dingers. Those are excellent stats and should be commended. unformtunately Mr. Gehrig can't come through against his former team. I think he might be feeling the pressure. His stats against Gahanna are pathetic. He is hitting .184 with 3 RBI's and 1 HR. That is for 9 games. The reason the Millers are 2-7 against Small Ball is pretty clear. Little LULU has not performed.
"I'll just tip my cap to the Small Ball and call them my daddy," Lou Gehrig
"Back off Sullivan, I bet you never had a disease named after you!", Lou Gehrig
John L. Sullivan was teh Bare knuckles champion of Boxing. That is saying somethin'
